As the Director of Global Security, you will be responsible for both developing the charter and vision of a comprehensive security program, and then building and executing on this mandate around the world, encompassing all elements of physical security to ensure our physical spaces and guests are kept safe. This includes everything from door security latches to security cameras to security personnel and beyond. You have an in-depth knowledge of security, have developed and run end-to-end programs, managed vendors, and have demonstrated the ability to deliver results on time and within budget. You are a highly motivated, independent thinker and leader who can execute projects across the organization while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
At Sonder You Will
• Be responsible for the strategy and operations of all security programs at Sonder
• Serve as the security expert and advisor to our city operations teams to mitigate risks, vulnerabilities, and security concerns
• Identify, select, onboard, and maintain vendor relationships that fit with overall security strategy
• Develop detailed project plans (including roadmaps, budgets, and resource planning) and oversee end to end execution
• Measure, track and analyze results to continuously improve security programs through practices such as A/B testing, statistical testing etc
• Work cross-functionally to deliver on results
• Implement an effective process for security incident management (tracking, resolution, reporting, postmortem)
Experience And Skills
• BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree
• 10+ years in security operations or program management in a customer focused industry (hospitality experience a plus)
• Demonstrated ability to quickly absorb technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience
• Excitement for working in a startup environment with high level of ambiguity and change
• Experience leading through direct management as well as indirect influence
• Excellent project management skills
• Metrics driven mindset
• Guest service obsession, with willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy guest needs
• Proven ability to quickly adapt and drive the right results using data
• Highest levels of integrity and ethics
• Must be willing to travel to markets as needed
• Position is based in San Francisco; must be willing to relocate if required
