This role entails…

Across the world, every day, so many different things are happening to enable us to deliver our ambition. Our Group Operational Risk & Resilience Director performs a key part in this working across our business areas to support them in understanding and mitigating the risks we take whilst pursuing our strategic ambitions. To achieve that the operational risk framework embeds and enables the management of these through a number of elements including education, key risk processes and assurance. Oversight in the centre is important so meaningful reporting is a real focus.

As the risks we deal with are broad ranging you will need to be able to think on your feet and apply risk management principles practically across a diverse range of situations often at speed. Our resilience is underpinned by our crisis and business continuity approach which you will be responsible for, this needs to be robust enough to support the business and provide flexibility to enable us to react to all the different situations that we face.

The other key element of the role is direct responsibility for the central teams supporting across Health and Safety and Duty of Care, these are key operational risks for our business and the central teams work hand in hand with business areas, focussing on the higher risk and more challenging aspects of the business as key partners.

Requirements

Resilience
• Develop and lead a Group approach to resilience - incorporating crisis and significant event management and Business Continuity
• Ensure appropriate reporting on key aspects of the approach to resilience to the Management Board and Audit and Risk Committee

Operational Risk:
With the Group Head of Operational Risk, develop and lead the Group’s strategy and approach to the management of operational risks, building on a holistic approach integrating activities where appropriate to ensure operational efficiency of processes and aligning Social Purpose commitments and delivery to the framework where appropriate.

Health and Safety and Duty of Care
Working with both the Group Head of Health and Safety and the Duty of Care Executive actively support the delivery of the principles and commitments within ITV’s Duty of Care charter and approach to the principal risk relating to Duty of Care/Health and Safety through the activity of the Health and Safety and Duty of Care teams.

Develop internal and external reporting to relevant Boards and Groups including;

• Duty of Care Operating Board
• Divisional Boards
• Audit and Risk Committee
• Mental Health Advisory Group
• Promptly and succinctly bring to the attention of the relevant Directors matters which require attention.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

• Risk professional and expert, with relevant experience who can set direction, lead teams and drive delivery.
• Substantial proven experience of working at a senior level within a risk function.
• Substantial proven experience of working in a diverse and fast paced business with a broad operational risk profile.
• Clearly developed strategic, commercial and financial acumen.
• Proven ability to be able to interpret and adapt risk based legislation/requirements in order to fit the Company’s operation, whilst ensuring that good practice is maintained.
• The ability to influence, persuade and negotiate with internal and external contacts at all levels.
• Proven ability to successfully propose, develop and implement corporate and departmental strategies relating to operational risks.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive and influential working relationships.
• Proven ability to prioritise, act and make decisions according to Company priorities.
• Previous experience of successfully managing a team, ideally of a cross-site nature.
• Proven experience of successfully setting and managing budgets.
