Jason Brown F.ISRM is one of the most respected authorities on security and risk management in Australia, as well as being a genuinely global figure in the wider risk and crisis management arena.

He is qualified in psychology and security risk management, and his professional roles have covered Security Intelligence, Counter Terrorism, International Liaison, Leadership, Training and Strategy Development. He has served on a number of senior boards and committees in both the Public Sector and Private Institutions.

Some of his many pubic appointments include:

  • Chair of International Standards Technical Committee TC262 Risk Management
  • Senior Regional Vice President ASIS International 2009-12,Member of ASIS International Standards and Guidelines Commission and Chair of Asia Pacific Advisory Committee 2010-12. Board Member Australian Risk Policy Institute 2013 – 2015
  • Chair of the Australasian Council of Security Professionals’ 2009-12
  • Honorary Fellow, Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism Centre, Macquarie University 2005-2016

  • President of the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers (AIPIO) - 1998-2000

Prior to joining Thales in 2004, Jason had 27 years experience in Commonwealth Government with appointments which included Assistant Secretary – Defence Imagery and the Geospatial Organisation; Director General – Safety, Compensation and People Development; Assistant Secretary – Defence Security, and various appointments in the Attorney General’s Security portfolio in the areas of counter terrorism and security policy and investigations.

In 2013 he was listed by IFSEC International in their roll of Global Top 40 influential persons in Security and Fire Management.
