Paul ‘s path has seen him make the full journey from being a front-line security officer at the bottom rung of a hotel security team, and end up, thirty years later as Vice President Corporate Safety and Security at the Radisson Hotel Group, responsible for developing a group strategy that could support security and safety in over 1,400 hotels across 114 countries.

He was a member of the team that led development of Rezidor's (the Radisson parent company) Code of Business Ethics Program resulting in Rezidor being awarded a place on Ethisphere Institutes list of World's Most Ethical Companies every year since 2010. Rezidor is the only hospitality company that has maintained its' presence on the list for all these consecutive years. In 2014, Paul was rewarded with a Carlson Fellow award. The award is the highest individual honour the company bestows on an employee, honouring exemplary results, great strength of character, strong leadership and dedication.

Paul has represented HOTREC, the umbrella association for hotels, restaurants and cafes in Europe on the Operators Forum at the European Commission in connection with the EU Action Plan on Protection of Public Spaces.

After retiring from the Radisson Group in 2018, Paul relocated to Kelowna, Canada, the same city he left a week after graduating high school in 1978, so ending his "4-decade gap year". Since returning to Canada, together with his wife, Kirsten, Paul has established the Always Care Consulting Company, Inc., through which he continues to support Radisson Hotel Group on the implementation of the safety and security section in their 5 year operations plan, as well as support HOTREC and the European hospitality industry to contribute to their role in the EU Action Plan for improved protection of public spaces.
